Dramatically Lowering Workers' Compensation Claim Costs
Broadspire and the Houston Independent School District have established a genuine
partnership that has resulted in dramatically reduced claims expenses. And
they're doing it in a workers' compensation environment in which double-digit annual
increases in program costs are the norm. To learn more, download our case study.
Facilitating Return to Work: Physician Peer-to-Peer Intervention
Broadspire's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jacob Lazarovic and Associate Medical Director J.D.
Beavers teamed with another expert in the field, John Brusk, to study
the impact that peer
reviews have on problematic workers' compensation claims. They reviewed the financial implications of
lengthy workers' compensation claims, as well as the less measurable, but still vital, psychological
effect that inactivity has on employees. The study,
which was published in the spring 2007 edition of
The Journal of Workers Compensation, showed that peer reviews helped deliver successful outcomes in
nearly half of the problematic cases that were tested.
