Behavioral Health Unit

Broadspire’s behavioral health unit (BHU) is prepared to meet the intensive case management demands often associated with psychiatric disabilities, which may involve multiple providers, frequent interventions, medication management and other complex issues.

The behavioral health team manages the clinical aspects of all types of mental health claims to help employees return to work and decrease disability durations. Our team can:

• Work with the employee, employer and provider on an effective return-to-work plan
• Assess the employee’s abilities and functional deficits related to specific job duties
• Communicate expected recovery times to providers and employees

Broadspire’s BHU team is also trained to help employees who may become a threat to themselves or others, as well as those who exploit disability as a means to resolve work conflicts or job dissatisfaction. Our behavioral health experts can also effectively communicate with treating physicians who have difficulty substantiating psychiatric disability claims with objective evidence.
