Texas House Bill 7

On June 1, 2005, the Texas Legislature passed Texas House Bill 7, which provides for extensive reform to the workers' compensation system. HB 7 transfers functions of the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission to the newly created Division of Workers' Compensation at the Texas Department of Insurance, effective September 1, 2005 .
